About Us

Patricia is fully trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy and is also a Clinical Hypnotherapist.  She became qualified and started her practice in 1998.  The first ten years of her practice were set up in medical centres in the southern and eastern suburbs.  She has now relocated to her own rooms in Kensington.  Patricia practices as a Generalist Counsellor (meaning that she uses multiple approaches such as Person Centered; Systems Theory; CBT; Gestalt; Psychodynamic Theory to name but a few.  Different aspects of these counselling methods are used as needed for each client). 

Patricia has been a member of the A.C.A. (the peak national body for counsellors) for ten years.  Before that she was a member of the other national body P.A.C.F.A. from the time she was qualified.  Recently the A.C.A. reorganised its members into levels, graded by experience and training, with Level 4 being the highest attainment.  Patricia is proud that the A.C.A. has awarded her a Level 4 in recognition of her achievements.    

Patricia is qualified in both Traditional Clinical Hypnotherapy and is a practitioner of Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.  She has always been passionate about Clinical Hypnotherapy and has successfully combined the use of Counselling / Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy for very effective results.

Patricia also completed her Master of Counselling degree in the year 2000.  Her thesis was on "The Use of Counselling and Clinical Hypnotherapy for Clinical Depression".  Patricia also has a large professional library and keeps up-to-date with the latest research in all aspects of Counselling and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
